Deborah Mandabach became involved in CASE District
VII from the very beginning of her career in higher
education. After completing her undergraduate
studies at California State University in Long Beach,
she began her marketing career in the financial industry.
Along the way, she earned a Master’s in Management
at Claremont Graduate University. In 1987 she
moved to hospital marketing, first at Community Hospital
and then at St. Bernardine Medical Center, both in
San Bernardino. In 1993 Deborah was named Director
of Public Relations at the University of La Verne,
a position she held until her move to the University
of Redlands in 2003 to become Director of Public Relations
and Communications. She retired from “regular
work” in June 2006.
Deborah has served CASE District VII as Conference
Registration Chair (1994), Communications Track Chair
(1997), Conference Chair (1999), and District Chair
(2004-2006). She has served as a Conference speaker
and mentor to many of her communications and marketing
colleagues. Her service to District VII has taken
her to Las Vegas, San Francisco, Miami, Anaheim, San
Diego, and Washington, D.C. to attend meetings. In
her “spare time” she has also served as
a member of the YWCA Board, the San Bernardino Area
Chamber of Commerce, Arrowhead United Way, League of
Women Voters, and University of Redlands Town & Gown.
We are honoring Deborah for her selfless service to
CASE District VII. She was always willing to
take on any task with consummate professionalism, grace,
and a quiet sense of humor. We are truly grateful
to her! |
