The Rising Star Award was established in 2004 and recognizes a person with seven (7) years or less of advancement experience whose early accomplishments distinguish them as possible future leaders in the profession. The candidates should be individuals whose performance demonstrates innovation, professionalism and leadership qualities. Click here for the 2007 Rising Star Award winner, Mike Remedi.

The deadline for nominations for the Rising Star Award is Friday, August 22, 2008. The person selected will be honored at the Awards Reception at the CASE District Conference on Monday, December 8, 2008 at the Hyatt Embarcadero, San Francisco, California.

The criteria for nomination is:

  • Seven years or less professional experience in any advancement area
  • A demonstrated and consistently high level of professional achievement
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • A strong commitment to the advancement profession
  • An affiliation with CASE and/or NAIS.

To nominate a colleague, please send a vita and exactly three letters of recommendation for each nominee. Letters should address the nominee’s professional achievements and demonstrate his/her service to the profession in such ways as seeking opportunities for professional advancement, creative approach to solving problems, volunteer service to CASE and/or NAIS at the district and/or national level, and other volunteer activities.
