The West Coast District of CASE, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, is offering scholarships for current students and new alumni to attend its annual conference on December 6-9, 2008. The conference will be held at the Hyatt Embarcadero in San Francisco, California.

CASE is a nonprofit organization for professionals in educational advancement. The membership represents most institutions of higher education, as well as more than 100 independent primary and secondary schools in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah. The annual District VII Conference draws several hundred participants.

The conference features workshops and round-table discussions led by professionals in specific fields, distinguished speakers, and special interest programs. In addition to the formal agenda, much informal networking occurs at meals, social hours, and between sessions. A job announcement board and vendor exhibit area are also available.

The ideal applicant expresses a high degree of motivation and promise for entering the advancement profession. Current juniors, seniors, graduate students, and new (one year) alumni of CASE District VII institutions are eligible to apply. Judges will give special consideration to students from culturally diverse backgrounds and from institutions with limited resources. Up to four scholarships will be awarded. The Scholarship will cover the cost of the registration fee, lodging (double occupancy), and some meals. Scholarship winners will also receive a transportation stipend not to exceed $150.
