Best Practices in Your Event Planning: The
Perfect Party presented by Melissa Blake
You will be dazzled, enthused, and inspired as you
plan the event of the year with the help of creative
thinking, technology, clear budgeting and a unique
vision. Even in a weak economy, you can still do wonders...raising
hundreds of thousands of dollars and have fun at the
same time. This presentation will take you from the
first steps in planning an event through to the final
steps of closing out, writing thank you to attendees
to following up evaluation meetings.

and Information Specialists of Universities/Colleges,
Community Colleges and Independent Schools.
Joel Price, the webmaster and information manager
for Friends' Central School (Wynnewood, PA) was instrumental
in shaping and streamlining the way the school uses
social media. In addition to working on their website
and fundraising database, his extensive experience
help form a cohesive and accessible technological suite
for Friends' Central. For almost six years, he
skillfully engaged a community of prospective and current
students, alumni/ae, parents, faculty, and donors. Before
his current position, Price earned a bachelor's degree
in psychology and education from Swarthmore College
with an elementary teaching certificate.
Mr. Price has presented at CASE, CASE-NAIS, and WhippleHill
conferences in Boston, New York City, and Chicago.
Melissa Blake, owner of Your Perfect Party, currently
works with various nonprofit organizations to coordinate
medium to large scale fundraising events. Her
events raise a total of $1.2 million annually for six
different local charities.
She works closely
with each client to carefully plan these events from
start to finish, bringing to the table her expertise
in creating unique events that generate much needed
funds. Prior to starting her company in 2008,
Melissa had been the Director of Development for Special
Olympics Hawaii for six years.
